With many activities and places to visit and explore, you will never be bored in El Dorado Hills. One of our most popular spots is Promontory Community Park which offers many features perfect for the family. Our community park has some of the best children’s play structures, a water spray ground, places to picnic and barbecue, sports fields, and even two tennis courts.

If you are looking to get your hands dirty in our beautiful city, then Farm Trails is the perfect activity for you. Many farms grow cherries, berries, peaches, apples, and wine grapes. We also have a pumpkin harvesting event in the fall and a Christmas tree “choose and cut” during the winter. You can hit the Farmers Market and shop for local goods and foods from May through October.

We have some of the best hiking trails in California, with breathtaking views and gorgeous wildflowers. Salmon Falls is a 2.4-mile trail that is perfect for a day of fishing or stopping at the impressive waterfall for which the trail got its name. Typically, the Old Salmon Falls bridge is covered in water for most of the year, but during October, you can walk on the bridge and take in the rustic architecture.

If you have a love for animals, then come and visit the Alpacas of El Dorado. This ranch offers scenic views of the Sierra Foothills, getting to know the alpacas, and drinking the local Foothills wine.

If you are looking for a slower pace to the day, we offer some of the most excellent coffee shops. The BusyKids is a coffee shop that entertains the kids while you enjoy a nice cup of coffee. BusyKids encourages children to pretend play by having an interactive play town–a miniature city of El Dorado Hills. This coffee shop is one example of our love for families and our community’s importance in El Dorado Hills.
